FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a charge for this service?

Individual therapy is covered by your OHIP card. However, failure to comply with the Team's appointment attendance policy may result in a $20 fee per missed appointment. For those who can afford it, a nominal fee applies to our group programs. Also, it often happens that a therapist recommends a therapeutic book. If you are unable to obtain it, we may be able to lend you a copy or direct you to the public library.

What are the benefits of consulting within my family health team?

You can benefit from better coordination of your primary care.

How can I get a mental health follow-up?

Please complete the Request for Mental Health Services form first. You can get it   here   or from one of our secretaries or any member of your processing team. Once the form has been completed, please submit it to the secretariat. One of our secretaries will contact you to schedule a telephone appointment of approximately 20 minutes with a clinician to assess your needs.

How can I be sure that I can see an intern therapist?

Your needs may be better served outside of the clinic, either due to an extended waiting period or because certain issues are not being addressed by our therapists, such as substance abuse and eating disorders.
